Onyx Display Plinths
One palette. Four moods.
Four freestanding onyx plinths for River Island's Manchester store—equal in footprint, deliberately different in colour, and finished for every viewing angle.
Rather than repeat one stone, we assembled four distinct moods: pale alabaster, warm honey vein, soft blush, and scarlet-veined white. Their shared dimensions let the store rotate the display without disrupting the floor plan.
Every face was polished because the cubes sit freestanding. A steel footplate was set into each top to secure the mannequin stand without interrupting the stone.
Retail stone must tolerate daily cleaning and constant movement around its base. The plinths were sealed and polished for a live commercial schedule while preserving onyx's characteristic glow under store lighting.
